Missions

Grace Lutheran strives to be a welcoming church family, committed to the Bible as God’s truth, worshiping together, and reaching out to love, pray for, teach, and serve others in Christ’s name.

Mission of the Month

Mission of the Month- Each month the people of Grace choose an organization, individual, or family – members or not–who needs help and encouragement.  The mission of the month receives the free-will offering collected during that month from our after-church coffee fellowship.

CURRENT MONTH’S MISSION:

October:  Anne Carlsen Center

The Anne Carlsen Center

Every October the free-will offering is used to buy Christmas gifts for children at the Center.  The Anne Carlsen Center is a nonprofit organization that has been providing support and services for to individuals with developmental disability or delay. Rich in tradition, the Anne Carlsen Center has positioned itself on the cutting edge of innovation with unique programs, creative therapies, and advanced assistive technologies that meet the specific needs of the developmental disability community.

Stephen Ministry

“Christ Caring For People Through People”

Stephen Ministers are lay people—Christian men and women—trained to provide one-to-one care to people experiencing a difficult time in life, such as grief, divorce, job loss, chronic or terminal illness, relocation, or separation due to military deployment.

Stephen Ministers come from all walks of life. Their commonality? A passion for bringing Christ’s love and care to people during a time of need.  Since 1975, more than 600,000 people from more than 11,000 congregations and other organizations have been trained as Stephen Ministers

Five members of Grace are commissioned as Stephen Ministers after completing 50 hours of training from Pastor Brad Soenksen.

Community

Grace members care for each other and the people of the area.  We view the local church as the place where people in the community come to get connected with God and one another.  We celebrate the fact that that everyone is wired a little differently; it allows each of us to serve according to our own unique strengths, skills and talents.

Members of the congregation are active in area events including the Erhard 4th of July celebration, community dinners, and service projects.  We work with area law enforcement to provide emergency assistance to families and individuals in need.  We support and celebrate with other churches in the area to build a larger community of faith in action.
