Music

People of God sing.

After escaping from the Egyptians and crossing the Red Sea, the people of Israel sang a song to the Lord (Exodus 15). Singing was part of Israel’s formal worship in both tabernacle and temple (1 Chronicles 6:31-32, 16:42). Hymn singing was practiced by Jesus and his disciples (Matthew  26:30). The Apostle Paul instructed the Colossians, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; teach and admonish one another in all wisdom; and with gratitude in your hearts sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him” (Colossians. 3: 16-17)

Grace Lutheran Church has a robust music program directed by Minister of Music Aimee Nordlund.  Aimee has years of classical piano study and has worked professionally as a solo pianist, accompanist, vocalist, musical director, and worship arts director.  Aimee is active in community music programs including serving as a director with A Center for the Arts Children’s Theater program in Fergus Falls

  • Sunday School: Music plays an active role in the Grace Sunday School program.  Children begin each Sunday with song and praise. Children sing during worship services, play an active role in worship, and the children’s Christmas Program packs the church!
  • Choir: The Grace choir raise their voices in song to God and bless our worship services with their gifts.  New voices are always welcome!
  • Praise Team: The Praise Team leads the congregation in song at Sunday worship services.
