Women’s Ministry

Grace Lutheran Women (GLW)

As a community of women created in the image of God, called to discipleship with Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, Grace Lutheran Women (GLW) is committed to grow in faith, support one another in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church and community.

GLW is a volunteer group within Grace that offers fellowship, service, and care.   GLW members serve at fellowship dinners, funerals, and weddings. Monthly meetings are held on the second Thursday of the month at 9 AM in the church fellowship hall, with Bible study, brunch, a little business, and great fellowship.

  • Quilting –Whether you are an experienced quilter or just learning this group offers fellowship through service.  Quilts are made for all graduating seniors every year, raffled at fundraisers, and given to those in need.   The children of the Anne Carlsen Center receive lap quilts at Christmas made by members. Nothing says love better than a handmade quilt.

  • Sunshine-Everyone could use a little sunshine from time to time! The Sunshine committee makes sure that people in need of a little cheer are reminded that people are thinking of them during their time of need, but especially at Christmas.

  • Fall Bazaar – The Fall Bazaar, held the last Saturday of September, attracts people for miles because of the lunch, crafts, baked, and canned goods donated by Grace members.

  • Weddings and Funerals – For information about using the church facility or planning weddings or funerals, please contact GLW President Karen Rossum at 218-739-3516 or Church Secretary, Rena Kubitz at 218-842-5205.
